ACMC Foundation hosted the 19th Annual Golf Classic at Harbor Golf Club and Martini's on Thursday, June 18th with skills contests, raffles, and giveaways, including a giveaway of a ticket "Player Package" to the PGA Bridgestone Invitational.
It was a scramble to win this year's tournament, and the Wells Fargo team brought their best game. With an overall score of 55, Wells Fargo took First Place and claimed rights to a cash prize and crystal trophies sponsored by the Kanicki family. Team players James Mayer, Jr., Tim Viands, Ryan Richards and Joel Dimare generously donated their cash winnings to the ACMC Foundation. Taking second place with a score of 56 was the Skufca's Auto Body team that included Jarrod Dixon, Steve Bartone, Tony Orlando, and Bruce Schlosser. A score of 61 was the Third Place score of the day, with teams from Andover Bank and St. John School squaring off for a scorecard playoff on which the St. John School team had the edge.
Putting their way to victory were Jarrod Dixon as winner of the putting contest, and the Wells Fargo team who had the longest putt. Jacob Huang had the straightest drive, while Tina DeGeorge and Brian Burns had the longest drives. Dan Knepper had the closest approach shot.
The winner of the PGA Bridgestone Invitational package was Laura Mihalko/Medical Mutual.
The event raised $33,000 to benefit a renovation project of the interior space in ACMC's cancer center building that will accommodate more patients and enhance their quality of care. The ACMC Foundation's pledge to the expansion of outpatient cancer and infusion services comes at a time when Ashtabula County continues to suffer from cancer occurrence rates significantly higher than Ohio’s and the United States'.

"At ACMC, patients receive nationally-recognized quality care with the added benefits of staying in their home community."
Throughout its history, more than $600,000 has been raised at the annual golf outing for various projects, programs and equipment purchases at ACMC. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary for the ACMC Foundation Golf Classic.
