Deadline for ACMC Academy is April 11

Ashtabula County high school sophomores and juniors who are considering a career in healthcare can experience what it is like during the Sixth Annual ACMC Academy, a program funded by the ACMC Foundation.

ACMC will host the paid summer interns for the eight-week program, which will begin in June.

To be a part of ACMC Academy, students must currently be a sophomore or junior.

Students must have an overall GPA of 3.0, with a Science GPA of 3.25 or higher. They must have no more than five absences or tardy notices in the previous semester.

For the internship, students will be assigned to a department and work there an average of 16 hours per week. The students will have the opportunity to rotate to different departments, and will participate in a Lunch-and-Learn Lecture series to hear about other departments and hospital careers.

Students may apply to work in the following areas: The Ashtabula Clinic, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Services, Laboratory Services, Nursing and Patient Care Services, Pharmacy Services, Radiology Services, Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, or Respiratory Care Services.

All applications must be received by April 11. Students can get an ACMC Academy application from their school guidance counselor.
