ACMC offers summer activities program for teens

High school students can stay active this summer by participating in the Ashtabula County Medical Center Bridge to Fitness program.

The free program is open to high school students from throughout Ashtabula County. Sessions are held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday, June 15 through July 15.

Bridge to Fitness teaches participant how to make healthier choices and incorporate activity into their daily life. Each session will feature a different activity, such as:

  • Kickball
  • Tae Kwon Do
  • Hiking
  • Weight lifting
  • Yoga
  • Zumba

Bridge to Fitness will also cover topics such as healthy weight loss, proper weight lifting technique, snacking and portion control, developing healthy eating habits, and how to stay on track once the program ends.

Each participant is eligible to win a Kindle Fire.

Classes will take place at Premiere Fitness, Lakeshore Park and other outdoor locations.
