Join Ashtabula County Medical Center Sports Medicine Department Director Lauren (Sposito) Gloekler for Walk With a Doc, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. The walk will take place at Lakeshore Park. She will discuss healthy walking, and then lead participants on a short walk around the park.
Walking is a great way to improve your general health or help take off the weight. Death from heart disease could be reduced by 34% by walking only two hours per week. Women with breast cancer who walk two to three miles per hour, three to five hours a week, have a death rate half of that for sedentary women.
While at Walk with a Doc, walk at your own pace for 30 to 45 minutes. Additional ACMC staff will be on-hand to walk with groups at different speeds. Walk with a Doc is free.
