ACMC Express Care now offering earlier morning hours

To make receiving walk-in care for minor illness and injury more convenient, two ACMC Express Care locations will open at 7:30 am beginning Monday, June 6th.

The new hours for ACMC Express Care in Ashtabula will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. ACMC Express Care in Geneva will be open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

“Almost 20,000 patients have come to ACMC Express Care since our first location opened in Conneaut two years ago. This change in hours is in response to many of those patients asking for even greater access to our walk-in care,” said ACMC Healthcare System President & CEO Michael Habowski. “By opening earlier in the morning we make it easier for night-shift workers to stop in Express Care on their way home. It is also more convenient for someone to use Express Care on their way to work or school.”

The ACMC Express Care in Conneaut and in Jefferson will maintain current hours of 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“By offering two Express Care facilities that open early and two that stay open late, we are ensuring that patients can receive low-cost, walk-in care when they need it – from early in the morning to later in the evening,” Habowski said.

Express Care is a no appointment service for patients age two and older who don’t need the advanced care of an Emergency Department. Typical conditions diagnosed and treated at Express Care include (but are not limited to):

  • Cold and flu
  • Infections (sinus, upper respiratory, urinary tract, ear, nose, throat)
  • Simple sprains and strains
  • Minor back and shoulder pain (without history of trauma)
  • Cuts, scrapes and bruises
  • Bites, stings and rashes (as well as other minor skin conditions)
  • Cellulitis
  • Stomach aches
  • Shingles, ringworm, impetigo
  • Conjunctivitis and Styes

Express Care is only for minor illness and injury. If you are experiencing chest pain, significant bleeding, or exposed bone or tissue, call 911 or go directly to the ACMC Emergency Department.

In addition to being a convenient walk-in service in four locations throughout the County, Express Care is a low-cost option. Co-pays at ACMC Express Care are similar to those of a physician office visit, and under most insurance plans, the co-pays and overall cost of the visit is less than what a patient will pay at an urgent care center or the Emergency Department.

ACMC Express Care is located at:

    • The Ashtabula Clinic, 2422 Lake Avenue
    • Conneaut Family Health Center, 354 W. Main Road
    • Geneva Family Health Center, 1032 S. Broadway
    • Jefferson Family Health Center, 234 N. Chestnut St.
